Overall, it's a pop/rock kinda thing they have going on but it's done perfectly. Songs range from just downright PERFECT to kinda beatle-esque on a couple. With only a couple of not-so-great filler songs it's well worth every penny. I know this is technically Christian but you probably wouldn't notice unless you're analyzing every lyric. I bought this and never knew it was Christian until I read up on the band. I guess that one song where he says JESUS should have tipped me off...but what can I say, it's just good pop/rock that doesn't drown in secular, superficial worship lyrics.

I bought this CD and was floored when I heard it the first time. EVERY song is about Jesus and his love for us. The lead singer sings a mellow sound like some secular groups. It is a real spirit lifter. I keep a copy in my CD player in my home and my car. If you looking for some music that you can sing with, worship with and relate with, this is it. I can't wait for more from these guys.

I ordered this cd on impulse as part of a special offer. I had heard one of thier songs on the local Christian station and thoguht I would give them a try. Holy cow was I blown away. Above the Godlen State is one of the best newer Christian acts out there in my opinion. The album borders on a whole between worship, rock, and accoustic and the lyrics are all very God-glorifying. "Love" and "All My Heart" were my two favorites but I honestly could not find a song I disliked completely. Pick up this cd, you wont regret it, and keep your eyes and ears open for future AtGS releases.

I have the privilege of actually knowing these guys in person, and they are everything their music portrays and more. They're hearts are pure and focused on bringing God glory through their musical giftings. Brooke, the drummer, is one of the most talented drummers I have ever heard (it's in the subtle things he does). This album is a great mix of worship and summer fun. Fantastic listen all the way through. Even if you don't want to buy the whole album (which blows my mind why you wouldn't want to), at least purchase "All My Heart". It's one of the best worship songs to come out in the last few years. It's so simple but so true, and the musicallity is fantastic. Keep bringing Him Glory ATGS!

I just heard them play at night of joy and they sound just like they do on the cd. Nice to be able to listen to a group live and they sound as good as if they were in the studio. excellent cd
